You get enough rail space on top to mount your backup sights or even optics. The M-Lok attachment system runs the 12 inches of the sides and bottom too for mounting tactical lights, lasers, grips, or whatever else you may need. And since it's free-floating, there aren't any connection points to the barrel itself, which means no interference with your AR's accuracy. Handguard comes with all necessary hardware for mounting; barrel nut, 2 hex nuts and bolts.
