The Rise Armament 701 is machined from quality 416 stainless steel to handle rapid fire and carbon fouling without wear or failure. It's also coated with a black nitride finish to effectively match your carbon steel barrel's nitride or phosphate finish, and your AR's upper and lower receivers' black anodized finishes.
