Regardless of their name or appearance, all forced reset devices work using the same principle: As the bolt carrier group in the AR platform travels forward, it forces the trigger to reset. So, as soon as the bolt goes back into battery, the shooter can pull the trigger again, immediately.
It's important to note these devices do not provide automatic fire, as defined by federal gun laws (though some states have banned these devices; more on that below). Instead, super safeties and forced reset selectors simply allow the shooter to pull the trigger more quickly with each follow-up shot, allowing for more efficient semiautomatic function.
