You love to build guns. You’ve heard about building an AR from scratch using little more than a drill press. This is the toolkit to get it done: The Broken Arms 80% Jig is designed to eliminate the need for any sort of expensive equipment like a router or mill. It uses unique templates that allow you to fabricate any mil-spec AR-15's forged or billet 80% lower or any mil-spec AR9 80% receiver with nothing more than a drill press and vise.
How the Broken Arms Jig Works
Rather than side-load your tooling like a router or mill requires, the Broken Arms Jig takes a vertical approach to cutting the receiver for the lower parts kit. Using the drill bits, you’ll complete the entire rear shelf and main fire control cavity for the hammer, trigger, and safety. The jig tells you how far to drill; all you need to do is control the press. You’ll use the end mill bits only for trimming up the receiver’s walls and cutting a slot for the trigger.
It’s All in The Bits
The secret to the Broken Arms Jig isn’t just the templates and guides. The included bits are made from quality high-speed steel (HSS). These are commercial-grade bits that can eat through forged aluminum in seconds, making fabricating multiple receivers as quick as it is simple.
