Effectively, yes. Technically, no: Both rifle platforms use the same, exact types of parts and they function identically. But there are slight physical differences in the shapes of the rifles' upper and lower receivers. This means an original AR-10 upper wouldn't work on an LR-308. That's okay, though -- the AR-10 platform is decades old and isn't produced for the civilian market.
