You’ve probably heard of the 80% lower market by now – you’re here, after all! But you might not have heard of the new Polymer 80 Glock Kit. This nifty new entrant to the 80% market allows amateur builders like you to legally piece together a brand-new Glock 19 at home. We’re talking about the PF940C Polymer 80 Glock Kit! Our partners over at Polymer80 developed this exciting new kit, so let’s break it down and see if it’s right for you:
The PF940C Polymer 80 Pistol and Jig Kit
The PF940C Kit comes with an 80% Glock frame and a Polymer 80 Jig. The kit also includes the drill bits and end mill bit necessary to complete the frame. The PF940C is a particularly cool kit because it’s 100% compatible with all Glock 19 and Glock 23 Gen 3 components! In fact, every dimension (save for one) and specification of the PF940C mirrors an off-the-shelf Glock, ensuring factory and aftermarket parts compatibility.
The only difference (or upgrade, rather) between the PF940C and a factory Glock is the grip angle: Engineers found that an 18-degree grip angle is more comfortable compared to the Glock’s 22-degree angle. Even with a new grip angle, the PF940C still accepts OEM and aftermarket Glock magazines! The PF940C also sports plenty of other features that you’ll love:
PF940C Glock Kit Features:
- Proprietary, solid-core polymer design
- Includes Picatinny/STANAG accessory rail
- Glock Factory-style grip texture
- Blank serialization plate
- Stainless Locking Block Rail System
- Stainless Steel Rear Rail Module
- Includes hardened pins for LBRS and RRM
- No FFL required for purchase or building
- Available with optional, FREE lock box!
The PF940C is awesome not because it allows you to build at home, but because of its quality compared to a factory Glock. You’re getting all the same features and functionality as you would with an off-the-shelf piece. Polmyer80 took the time to ensure the PF940C runs and guns as reliably as an O.G. shooter straight out of Austria. That means factory-style stipling, quality Stainless Steel hardware, and complete Gen 3 compatibility. Now you can build the perfect Glock for less!
Glock 19 80% Build Kit w/ Free Portable Handgun Lock Box
The PF940C Kit includes an 80% frame and jig. Once complete, you’ll need to invest in a Gen 3 Glock 19 slide, barrel, and parts kit. Or, you could grab everything you need with one purchase. Machining a Glock Frame takes less than two hours!
Building a Glock 19 or Glock 23 with the Polymer 80 Glock and Jig takes less than two hours, even for first-time builders! If you have experience machining an 80% lower, this entire project will likely take you less than one hour. Completing the Polymer 80 Glock frame and assembling your finished piece requires just a few, simple machining tasks:
- Drill (3) holes on either side of the frame for the provided pins.
- Mill the barrel guard and ribbing to allow for installation of the barrel and slide.
- Mill the rear ribbing to allow for installation of the Locking Block Rail System.
- Install the Rear Rail Module provided in the kit.
Sounds pretty easy, right? That’s because it is. The Polymer 80 Glock was designed to be built with basic tools and little to no experience or knowledge. If you can pick up a hand drill and Dremel, you can build your Glock 19 or 23 in a single day. For the complete break-down, grab the instructions right here!
Building a Polymer 80 Glock requires no FFL
The real advantages of building your Glock with a Polymer 80 Frame are convenience and cost-savings: You don’t have to deal with an FFL. You don’t need to file and submit any paperwork (at the Federal level, check your local laws, too). You don’t have to pay high taxes or extra fees to any agency for a firearm purchase. There are no waiting periods, and the kit ships straight to your front door!
Because the ATF considers kits like these to be “receiver blanks” (like the AR-15’s 80% lower), they don’t recognize anything in the PF940C Kit as a firearm. By definition, you’re simply buying some plastic and tools. Only once you finish your Polymer 80 frame do you now legally own a firearm.
